A series of race-related incidents at Grand Haven High School continue to be at the center of ongoing federal and criminal investigations.

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights is examining incidents that have occurred this school year. The incidents, characterized by a parent of a biracial student as “racial intimidation,” involve KKK-like apparel and a racial slur written on a school bus window.

A separate criminal investigation into the window incident is also ongoing.

The Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance is hosting the forum. It’s happening at 7 p.m. tonight at the Grand Haven High School Performing Arts Center.

Can't make it? No worries. Read all about the meeting and the status of the investigations in Wednesday's Grand Haven Tribune. Need to subscribe to the e-edition or newspaper to see the full stories? Click HERE.

A forum for racial intimidation??? What a joke, there is nothing new here. This situation was happen when I was growing up. If you got caught, you apologized and either got detention or suspended for a few days, then life moves on. What’s next, Grand Haven will portray in its own version of the movie “Footloose”. In banding all alcohol, non-religious music and dancing to shelter our kids from the evils of the real world. Grow up, teach your kids right and stop making other people from taking over your own parental responsibilities away.
