Clerk Carolyn Boersma cast the lone dissenting vote last week on a plan that’ll allow a local disc golf club to construct, operate and maintain an 18-hole course on the south side of Wilson Road, a quarter-mile west of 174th Avenue.
“We're excited now for sure,” said Rob Underhill, Lakeshore Disc Golf Club president.
Underhill has been meeting with township officials since last fall to lay the groundwork for a new course.
“We've been going out there to get a feel for the land and what we have there,” he said.
Underhill expects the course will be ready for a soft opening in early June. The club hopes to host a tournament at the end of June.
