The event is called Walk For No Limits and features Sauter sauntering along highways and streets on stilts, 10 feet above the ground. The walk began April 12 in Ann Arbor.

On Friday, he made a jaunt through the Tri-Cities, stopping at Four Pointes Center for Successful Aging in Grand Haven.

He later was spotted heading east through Spring Lake Village. He said he was on his way to Holland for his next stop, at which point kind Spring Lake residents directed him back toward Grand Haven to head south on U.S. 31.

Sauter himself is a person with cerebral palsy. He calls his elevated persona the “Michigan Stiltwalker” and has been doing this kind of fundraising for a long time.
