Flood advisory

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a flood advisory for Ottawa County and much of West Michigan until 6:30 this evening.

Heavy rainfall in the area and impending storms may cause urban and poor-drainage flooding. Rapid rises of small streams and creeks may produce minor flooding.

The forecast for the Grand Haven area:

This afternoon: Showers and thunderstorms. High near 69. West wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms. Low around 50. Northwest wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
