Today: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 65 by 8 a.m. Breezy, with a north-northwest wind 14 to 20 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. North wind 8 to 16 mph.

The National Weather Service has posted a Beach Hazard Statement, warning of dangerous swimming conditions at Lake Michigan beaches, through Friday morning. High wave action, and strong structural, rip and longshore currents can be expected. North winds of 20-25 knots today will cause strong currents that can push you out into deep water while swimming on the north side of piers and breakwaters.
