The 14-year-old earned a $1,000 scholarship in addition to winning the title Wednesday at the Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts in Muskegon.
Smith said her experience at the pageant "was like a dream" and that she was "freaking out." During the talent segment, she performed a number from "Bye Bye Birdie."
The first runner-up is Sarah Anderson of Bay City, who won a $700 savings bond scholarship.
The rest of the top five are Brooklynn Lambert of Monroe, Erica Kennedy of Lapeer and Alisha Gatchel of Greenville.
The teen pageant is for girls ages 13-17.
