Ferrysburg festivities planned

The City of Ferrysburg has scheduled its annual Fourth of July Parade for 10:30 a.m.

A community breakfast will take place prior to the parade from 8-10 a.m. at the Ferrysburg City Hall, 17290 Roosevelt Road. This is a free event sponsored by the Ferrysburg City Council.

Parade participants will begin lining up at 10 a.m. at City Hall, move east along Ridge Avenue to Pine Street, then south on Pine to Fourth Street to William Ferry Park.

Sparty from Michigan State University will serve as the grand marshal. Everyone is invited to participate in the parade, and the Harbor Trolley will be available for those who would like to ride in the parade.

After the parade, there will be a flag-raising ceremony at the park, and festivities that include food, games and prizes.

Note that Ridge Avenue from 174th Avenue to Pine Street, as well as Pine Street to Third Street, will be closed to traffic during the parade.
