Locally, a Jake’s Fireworks tent popped up in Spring Lake along M-104 and a TNT Fireworks stand went up in the Meijer parking lot off U.S. 31 in Grand Haven Township.
William Sauter of Muskegon mans the Grand Haven Township tent, spending the past few days trying to make sales for a fundraiser through Living Word Church in Muskegon.
“Being a fundraiser, this has been quite beneficial (for the church),” Sauter said. “We’ve been making about $1,000 a day here.”
He said the stand’s biggest sellers are the cheaper fireworks.
“I had some guy buy like seven of them,” Sauter said, pointing over to a table that held fireworks such as Artillery Shells with comet tails and Festival Balls.
Browsing the Artillery Shells and other fireworks were Jason Stahl of Grand Haven, with his young daughter, Trinity.
“I have a buddy who buys $500 or $600 in fireworks every year,” Stahl said while browsing the table for potential fireworks for his family’s Fourth of July celebration.
