The project will take about two months to complete, the Michigan Department of Transportation said. It is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Improvements will be completed using nightly, single-lane closures between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights.

A weekend lane closure on northbound U.S. 31 in Grand Haven, from Madison Street north to the bridge, is scheduled to be in place from 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, through 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9.

wow, a winter photo of someone parked on the bascule bridge while it's snowing. That sums it up, right there. Must have been the only photo they have of the roadway? How does it even pertain to the paving story here, just because you mentioned 'bridge'? Please give SOMEONE a camera and some gas for their car, so they can take a relevant photo to go with your stories. Maybe give them a raise from $7.50/hr., so they can afford to go the 3 miles to take the shot?

Is life so depressing that we have to complain about a photo?

Is your life so depressing that you don't see the humor in the photo they used?

Big's comments have nothing to do with depression, don't you point something out when you notice it's amiss? If nothing else, a tongue in cheek comment, a little sarcasm maybe; it's what makes interaction with your fellow man, or woman, fun. Actually, when I think about it for a minute, your comment is depressing; a little irony maybe?

Is life so depressing that we have to to complain about the post of another?

Okay, point made. I am only suggesting that it seems like most comments are negative -including mine. I feel that we should try to make positive comments when possible. I do apologize and I should have gone about it in a positive way.

You are right. I am going to be positive about it.

I will say that I think the picture was a GREAT choice. It showed creativity and imagination and showed that the journalists here do not feel locked in to publishing photos with a direct relation to the content of the article. That is nice out of the box thinking. Thanks for being progressive and not limiting your images to those that directly relate to the story.

Great job guys!! Keep it up!! Stay positive!! Love this stuff!!

You crack me up Christopher :)
