Money raised for the project will go toward the Bucs Wellness Fund, which is used to help local families battling cancer. It assisted about 30 families last year.

On Sunday, a Bucs Pride Miles of Pennies Walk will start at the Coast Guard boat at Beacon Boulevard and Seventh Street in Grand Haven. Participants are asked to wear purple and gather at 2:45 p.m. The walk will begin at 3 p.m.

The walk will end at the grassy area in front of Panera Bread. A reception will follow the walk to award the schools with activity dollars for their efforts.
