Authorities say 22 of the 64 people who died in the outbreak were from Michigan.
Attorneys for creditors of the Framingham, Mass.-based New England Compounding Center said Monday that they've reached a preliminary settlement to create a victim compensation fund worth more than $100 million.
The company filed for bankruptcy protection after being flooded with lawsuits over the tainted steroid injections.
Authorities say that 749 people in 20 states have developed fungal meningitis or other conditions as a result of the contaminated steroids. Two-hundred-sixty-seven of the cases are in Michigan or involve residents of the state.
