Another law signed Monday allows local "promise zones" created to subsidize college tuition to also be used for vocational education, books and supplies. Snyder also signed a law exempting sales taxes from over-the-counter medications if they're prescribed by a doctor.
Snyder says the six laws were passed with strong bipartisan legislative support.
