Snyder kicks off re-election campaign

Republican Gov. Rick Snyder said he'll launch his bid for a second four-year term Monday and Tuesday with six events around Michigan.

Snyder's campaign says the first stop is at 10 a.m. Monday at James Group International in Detroit. He also has stops Monday at Two Men and a Truck in Lansing at 1 p.m. and at Downtown Market in Grand Rapids at 3:45 p.m.

Tuesday's events are at Alfie Embroidery in Traverse City at 9 a.m., Zehnder's in Frankenmuth at 1 p.m. and Oakland Community College in Farmington Hills at 3:30 p.m.

Snyder's campaign said Monday it had about $4 million on hand at year's end, while the campaign of Democratic challenger Mark Schauer says it had about $1 million.

Official finance reports for 2013 are due today.

If Snyder is "one tough nerd", I think it's high time we elect "one tough football jock" to steal his lunch money, stuff him into a locker, and leave him hanging by his underwear from the flagpole.
