Buchanan will present hands-on items, like kitchen gadgets and cleaning tools, along with a slideshow featuring such household items as wringer washers and wood/gas cook stoves.

She will also cover new-fangled items of the time, affordable only to the wealthy. She will share those as well as items used by average Grand Haven households.

Buchanan will conclude with a discussion on common foods that mom would have made in 1914.

This program is free to the public. It will take place in Program Room A of the library, 407 Columbus Ave., at 7 p.m.
