Crews will resurface more than 12 miles of the highway’s southbound lanes from Ferris Street in Grand Haven Township to Quincy Street in Holland Township. The Michigan Department of Transportation said motorists should expect intermittent single-lane and shoulder closures during the project.

All lanes will be open from 6 a.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday, and on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The project is expected to be completed in mid-June.

Why is MDOT resurfacing US31 now! The busy traffic season is right around the corner of people coming and going to the beach. This is terrible timing! This should have been done in the fall after the busy traffic season ended and before the snow began!
