For the first time in the event’s 22-year history, a team won trophies for their chili as well as the booth showmanship prize. Neal Milewski and his "Pimped Out Chili" team, proving that it is possible to make great chili while having a lot of fun, took second place in the cookoff.

The third-place chili award went to Ralph Kendall and his "Dragon Spit Chili" team.

The Chilly Blues Festival took place April 25-26 in downtown Grand Haven, with live blues music playing at several venues over the two days.
