The outgoing message for the answering machine at Cars for Keeps, 1050 Fulton Ave. in Grand Haven, states: “Cars for Keeps is now closed. We have gone out of business.”

The Tribune has left several messages for owner Rob Hopp on his cellphone, but Hopp has not returned calls.

Cars for Keeps opened a second location at 14747 Cleveland St. in Spring Lake Township several years ago. That facility closed this past fall.

Hopp started the automotive repair business as Automotive Advantage in Ferrysburg in 1990.

I thought they were an excellent place to do business. I'm sorry to see them closing down.

I'm sorry to see them closing down as well. I have gone to them for a few years now and they have always been very kind, respectful and informative with any diagnosis that they had for my car.
Now I'm not sure where I will go for repairs.
