Lakeside Service USA opened recently at 15163 172nd Ave. in Grand Haven Township, across the street from D&W store.

The vehicle and motorsport repair shop is owned by a father-and-son team, Dave and Shane Swift; and Shane's friend, Mark Walters.

Dave is a master motorcycle mechanic who also works on ATVs and personal watercraft.

Shane and Mark specialize in auto and truck mechanics.

Lakeside remains true to its name by also offering boat engine service.

“I know it's a big boat town,” Dave said. “We all have boats ourselves, so it's not like it's anything new to us. And the boys are big into four-wheel-drive stuff.”

They offer lift kit installations; auto, truck and motorsports repair; as well as after-market parts and accessories for motorcycles and ATVs.

“Were a full-range auto repair business that's going to offer a lot of different things to the customer,” Dave said.

Labor rates are competitive at $70 an hour.

“We're not trying to undercut anybody, but being new to the area you can't be a high-end labor charge,” Dave said.
