Boot camp basics

Health and physical activity were at the forefront of Robinson Elementary School students’ minds this week.

Students wrapped up Health Week at the school by completing an obstacle course during a Robinson Boot Camp Fundraiser on Friday.

Nearly 60 businesses and community members sponsored the week’s worth of activities, in which students learned about water and boating safety, enjoyed healthy snacks, and vowed to “unplug” from unnecessary screen time.

The boot camps raised money for the school’s Parent-Teacher Association, and it helped pay for field trips, books and supplies for teachers, Young Authors Day, assemblies, Step Into My Shoes, playground equipment and more. Last year’s Walk-A-Thon raised about $6,000 through sponsors and pledges.
