The education department’s report identifies priority schools, which are identified as in the bottom five percent of schools. Focus schools are schools with largest within-school gap in achievement between top 30 percent and bottom 30 percent of students. Reward schools show the highest improvement, performance or are determined as “Beating the Odds.”

Overall, reports are mixed for local schools.

Local Reward Schools include Grand Haven High School, Mary A. White Elementary School, Peach Plains Elementary School, Rosy Mound Elementary School, Holmes Elementary School, Spring Lake Intermediate School, and Spring Lake Middle School.

Lake Hills Elementary School has been named as a Focus School.
