Mary A. White Elementary School students become published authors

A giant, purple ape towered over Mary A. White Elementary school on Tuesday night, hinting at what was inside. More than 300 students and their parents made their way through a jungle to enter the gym for the Young Authors Night celebration. This was the final event for the school during National March is Reading Month, pertaining to the theme of "Get Wild About Reading.' Students and teachers celebrated the fact that every one of the school's kindergarten through fifth-grade students had their writing and illustrations professionally published.
