Retiring Lakeshore Middle School principal given her own day

The city proclaimed that June 10 will be Julia Houle Day in Grand Haven, honoring the day Houle will retire after 15 years as principal of Lakeshore Middle School. "I love what I do, and I love our kids,' Houle said, "but now it's time to see if there's something else that I can do to work with our kids.' Houle taught school for 23 years before becoming an assistant principal at Grand Haven High School for two years and then moving to Lakeshore Middle School to be the principal.
