Money raised from the $50 tickets will go toward the foundation’s endowment fund, which gifts money to teachers for pilot programs typically based on reading and literacy.
The foundation’s first-ever car raffle will take place at 6 p.m. April 20 at Mill Point Park. The grand prize is a 2012 Chevy Cruze Eco from Tony Gage of Gage Motor Mall.
Anyone who buys a ticket is also eligible for a monthly iPad and Spring Lake logo gear raffle. The next iPad and gear drawing is Friday.
“The sooner you buy, the better chance you have of winning,” raffle co-chairwoman Christine Clover said.
The foundation, which was formed in 1983, recently granted more than $10,000 to Spring Lake elementary school programs. It typically distributes about $12,000 in grants twice a year to teacher projects selected by a subcommittee of foundation members and school board members.
Tickets are available at any Spring Lake school office, and at Sweet Temptations and Gage Motor Mall in Grand Haven.
