St. Mary’s to hold preschool, kindergarten events

St. Mary's Parish School will host an open house for its preschool and a kindergarten enrollment meeting on March 1. In addition, the school will host a visitation to its kindergarten class on March 8.

The general public is invited to attend the events. Reservations for all three programs are required by March 1.

The preschool open house will take place from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the preschool room of St. Mary’s Church, 406 E. Savidge St. in Spring Lake, adjacent to St. Mary’s School.

The preschool program is arranged by age: for 3-year-olds, it is 8:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, for 4’s, it is 8:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 12:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays; for 5-year-old Connect, it is 12:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; plus a Monday, Wednesday, Friday choice of attending morning or afternoon programs.

The St. Mary’s kindergarten enrollment meeting is for parents from the area interested in enrolling their children in the fall 2012. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the St. Mary’s School kindergarten classroom, located in the elementary building, 421 E. Exchange St. Information will be provided on costs, curriculum and typical daytime activities, and there will be opportunities to meet staff.

Visitation to a kindergarten class will be offered to the public on Thursday, March 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This opportunity is called “Shadow a Cyclone Day,” in honor of the “Cyclones” mascot for St. Mary’s School. Anyone interested in visiting the classroom will meet students, eat lunch and observe recess.
