"Keith does an outstanding job as the educational leader for GHAPS," Board President Chris Houghtaling said. "We are so fortunate to have hired and retained such a competent person to lead our district."

Konarska was evaluated in the following areas: relationship with the board, community relations, staff relationships, business and finance, educational leadership, personal qualities, and achievement of goals. These categories are provided by the Michigan Association of School Boards. Konarska exceeded or met expectations in all areas, Houghtaling said.

"It is truly a pleasure to serve on a board where the leader is a person that I have confidence in to do the right thing and do what is best for kids," Houghtaling added. "I have the greatest respect for him."

Konarska's contract is through the 2013-14 school year.
