Holiday donation

Some Grand Haven middle school students recently rounded up toys and money to help the American Legion's local Crusade for Toys collection.

Each class at Lakeshore Middle School participated in the drive. Together, they donated more than $2,300 in cash and approximately $1,300 in toys.

In their classrooms, students purchased paper links to hang from the ceiling so they had a visual representation and incentive to help families in need. All of the money from the link sales went to the project.

Crusade for Toys gifts stay in Grand Haven and support local families.
