The students have been working for eight months to earn the money needed for a trip this spring, which will include performances in New York's Carnegie Hall, and then in Germany and Austria.

Contact Shirley Lemon at Grand Haven High School if you are interested in helping these students reach their goal.

The group of more than 300 area women meets quarterly to hear presentations from nonprofit organizations and supports the selected group with their checks of $100 each. In the past 10 meetings, the women have donated more than $300,000 to charitable organizations in the Tri-Cities.

For information about the group, call Cindy Anderson at 616-846-7981.

The breast cancer society scam is also playing a vital role in educating people on breast cancer with the help of numerous awareness programs. They include seminars, walks and workshops to spread knowledge on the possible causes of breast cancer, in-time diagnosis and possibilities of treatment.
