Performing Tuesday at the Tri-Cities Family YMCA, Loutit District Library and The Salvation Army, the clown provided juggling, jokes and unicycling.

The local Kiwanis club sponsored the event to publicize its circus Aug. 19 on Harbor Island. There will be two shows that day — at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.

"But one of the most fun to see for free is the tent raising at 9 (a.m.) by the elephants," said Bill Swano, circus chairman for the Kiwanis.

This is the 10th year the Kiwanis has brought the circus to Harbor Island.

The club provides more than 100 free passes to children "in need" from our community. The club uses the proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales to provide services to children’s programs — including swim lessons, food banks and the Santa House.
