Little girls, many with tiaras and wands, created a sea of pink in the auditorium. The musical has proven to be popular with youngsters, breaking attendance records for Central Park Players’ productions at this venue.

A preliminary "Pinkalicious" event at Loutit District Library on March 9 drew 130 young ladies, all dressed in shades of pink.

The theatrical production is based on the popular children’s book written by sisters Victoria and Elizabeth Kann. The main character, Pinkalicious, can’t stop eating pink cupcakes, which lands her with a case of pinkitis. At first she loves that, until it goes too far. With the help of her brother, they figure a way out of her predicament.

"Pinkalicious the Musical" has three more performances: at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Lakeshore Middle School, 900 Cutler St., Grand Haven. Tickets are $10 and may be reserved by calling 616-850-6566.
