“Macbeth” is a spooky thriller about the rise and fall of the title character. As the play begins, Macbeth receives a prophecy from three mysterious witches that he will become king of Scotland. Encouraged by his ambitious wife, Macbeth plots to murder the current king to help fulfill the prophecy.

As he rises to power, Macbeth becomes more and more paranoid about maintaining his throne, unable to find security as he attempts to eliminate any possible enemy.

Shakespeare’s play examines the psychological and emotional toll that their evil actions take on Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.

Pigeon Creek’s cast includes Kathleen Bode, Kat Hermes, Dynasty Huckleby, Sean Kelley, Janna Rosencranz, Sarah Stark, Steven Schwall, Kate Tubbs and Scott Wright, as well as real-life husband and wife Scott Lange and Katherine Mayberry as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.

Tickets are $14 for adults, and $7 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are available by calling the Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company at 616-850-0916.

Seven Steps Up is at 116 S. Jackson St. in Spring Lake.
