Mahave-Veglia's program selections include: Étude No. 22, op. 73 by David Popper; Prelude from the Suite in G Major BWV 1027, Johann Sebastian Bach; Étude No. 34, op. 73, Popper; Cello Lines, Bill Ryan; Étude No. 17, op. 73, Popper; Suite No. 3 in C Major, BWV 1029, Bach; and Étude No. 20, op. 73, Popper.
Mahave-Veglia lives in Grand Rapids and is an associate professor at Grand Valley State University. He is a cellist and teacher whose repertoire ranges from the early baroque performed on period instruments, to his ongoing interest in researching, performing and recording the work of contemporary Latin-American composers.
The free concert begins at 2 p.m. on the library's upper level lobby. The public is urged to come early due to limited seating. The library, 407 Columbus Ave., opens at 1 p.m. on Sundays.
