The concert will take place at the school's Performing Arts Center, 17001 Ferris St. in Grand Haven Township. Tickets are $5 and available in advance at the Education Services Center, 1415 S. Beechtree St. in Grand Haven.

Side by Side is one of the educational outreach programs of the Grand Rapids Symphony. It provides select high school orchestra students with the opportunity to perform alongside the symphony in a concert at their school, meet symphony musicians, pick up "tips of the trade," and prepare and perform the same repertoire as the professionals.

“Each year, the symphony utilizes a competitive process to select two or three high school orchestras for this program," explained Claire VanBrandeghen, director of education for the Grand Rapids Symphony.

This is the first year the Grand Haven High School Symphony Orchestra has participated in the program. Funding assistance comes from the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation.
