YMCA celebrates Wednesday

More than 1,200 people are expected to converge on the Tri-Cities Family YMCA early Wednesday evening for its 50th anniversary celebration.

At 5 p.m. Wednesday, all programming at the YMCA will end and the doors will open to the revelers. Children’s activities and YMCA demonstrations will begin at 6 p.m. with The Verve Pipe music starting at 6:30 p.m.

The official anniversary ceremony will start at 7:15 p.m. with more music and giveaways until the VIP meet and greet starts at 8:45 p.m.

Fun activities and events will take place in the YMCA parking lot, basketball court, bike racks and the west side of the soccer field.

Parking for the event will be limited.
