Animal testing protests?

Betty of Norton Shores asked, “I’ve seen people protesting with “stop animal testing” signs on Pontaluna Road, near the Speedway gas station. What business are they protesting?”

ANSWER:

There’s a handful of businesses in the little industrial park there, but it appears the protests are directed at Northern Biomedical Research, 1210 Pontaluna Road.

Media reports from two years ago recount a group called Speak Up protesting that company’s use of animals in its scientific research. CLICK HERE to visit the group’s Facebook page.

Northern Biomedical Research’s website (northernbiomedical.com) says the company “offers a wide array of services including study design, data collection and analysis, quality assurance, MRI, computer modeling, specialty surgical procedures, full necropsy capabilities and generation of scientific study reports.”

I called the company, but the recording didn’t allow me to leave a message. I also sent the company an e-mail requesting information and have not received a reply.

Hi Mark, I tried to access the link for the update to TV's made in Michigan, but access was denied. Just a heads up, thanks!

The actual business is within the industrial park which is restricted to those that work at the many places there. The place in question is visible from 31 and the only one with black chain link and electronic gates making it all seem more ominous.

The link is fixed. Thanks for pointing that out, TCR.
