Missing his white potatoes

Charles of Grand Haven asked, “Why aren’t there any Michigan (white) potatoes in any Tri-Cities stores?”

ANSWER:

They’re simply out of season, Charles.

“They should be back in the markets in another month,” said Nicky Haywood, spokesman for Spartan Stores/D&W Fresh Market.

Joseph Hirschmugl, public relations manager for Meijer Inc., said: “In working with our local growers and wanting to provide the freshest, high-quality Michigan (white) potatoes possible, we anticipate having them available in our (Grand Haven Township store) in late July.”
