ANSWER:

Justin Donald Hobeck, 28, was sentenced in October 2012 to a year in jail on the high-court misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct after pleading no contest in September. The Grand Haven Township man was also fined $700 and given credit for 36 days already served in jail, and must sign up with the state's sex offender registry.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department online jail inmate lookup, Hobeck has been in the county jail since late September.

The former marching band assistant was charged with having a sexual relationship with a then-high school senior in the fall of 2010.

Grand Haven Area Public Schools Superintendent Keith Konarska said that, once alerted to the alleged relationship, the district immediately terminated its relationship with Hobeck, who was a part-time assistant for the marching band.

When he was being sentenced, Hobeck apologized “to everyone involved in this whole situation.” He promised the judge that he would not let “this mistake” affect who he is.
