Is it a real dinosaur?

Khloe of Grand Haven asked, "Is that a real T. Rex skull at the top of the stairs at Loutit District Library?"

ANSWER:

No, it's not real. But it is pretty cool.

It's a cast replica of a Tyrannosaurus Rex skull, jaw and femur bone. It's on display at the library through Labor Day to coincide with the Ice Age Imperials exhibit at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum.

The skull and jaw is a replica of a fossil discovered by Montana rancher Kathy Wankel in 1988, according to the library.
