“It presents a challenge when it works up the hill," he said. "But, other than that, it was simple (to contain)."
According to Ercole, crews spent about 45 minutes on the scene.
The fire was visible to those who were attending the Musical Fountain show on the waterfront.
Shelley DeYoung of Rockford said she could see the fire over the trees.
“There was quite a good flame going," she said. "It took them a while to get here though."
Amy Parente of Grandville said the marine patrol boats were a little distracting for people watching the Musical Fountain. Parente said she found the fire more interesting to watch.
