Police said the restaurant’s morning manager noticed the safe was missing money, but noted there was no sign of forced entry. In reviewing surveillance video, she saw two people enter the restaurant at 2379 North Park Drive in Holland Township at about 1 a.m., head directly to the safe and remove money from it.

The manager called police at about 7 a.m. and reported the crime. She said the suspects in the video looked like two former employees.

Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives later arrested two suspects, ages 20 and 21, at a home south of Holland in Allegan County. Capt. Mark Bennett said they were found with the missing money and are lodged in the Ottawa County Jail.

The suspects were expected to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of burglary of a safe.

Bennett said additional suspects and charges are possible, and asks that anyone with information on the case to call Silent Observer at 877-88-SILENT or leave a tip online at mosotips.com.
