A trial date will now be set for Samuel Moya, 15572 Clovernook.

“Mr. Moya maintains his innocence in this matter,” said his attorney, Philip Sielski, when asking the judge for a reduction of the $25,000 cash/surety bond.

Sielksi said the bond needed to be lowered to an amount that Moya could pay so he could prepare for his defense and provide for his family — which includes his girlfriend, who is the alleged victim.

Judge Jon Hulsing denied the motion for a lower bond, noting that Moya has a previous domestic violence conviction.

Moya’s criminal history also includes operating while intoxicated, resisting a police officer and driving with a suspended license.
