Eric Jay Willard, 50, was given credit for 42 days he already served in jail.

Willard asked the judge for no probation because he has neither money nor transportation. He also apologized when he was sentenced Monday afternoon in Ottawa County Circuit Court.

“I’m very sorry for my actions,” Willard said.

A report read in a previous court hearing noted that Willard “approached his wife, jumped on top of her and bit her in the chest area.” The report noted that Willard left the room and returned with a bat, which he held in a threatening manner.

Willard also has domestic violence convictions in 2010 and 2011.

People (male and female) need to leave forever after the first domestic violence incident. Abusers do not change, they only get worse until one day.. they take it too far and you die.

This is my next door neighbor...he's right where he needs to be! He & his wife are volatile together...but also trust me when I say that she's not Miss Innocent herself....she also went right at him just as bad! They're both a "little off"! I honestly have no sympathy for either one...once had sympathy for her until I watched what went on a little more closely! They both lay their hands on each other...I'm just glad one of them is gone for a little bit (I didn't care which one)! At least it's quieter next door for the time being!
