Police responded to the rollover crash in the 800 block of Pennoyer Avenue at about 12:10 p.m. Monday.

An 31-year-old Grand Rapids woman driving a Range Rover came around the corner off southbound Beacon Boulevard, struck and broke a utility pole and flipped onto its side.

Odessia Bennis said she heard a loud bang, looked outside and saw two passers by helping the woman out of the car that crashed in front of Bennis' house.

Police administered a series of driving under the influence tests on the woman, and then took her away in the back of the police car.

She was arrested for driving while impaired (alcohol), said Sgt. Josh Tomes of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

While police were handling the first crash, they heard a bang, walked up to the corner and noted a multi-car rear-ender crash on southbound Beacon Boulevard just south of Pennoyer.

Police reported one person suffered minor neck pain in that crash.

Welcome tourists.

Response time to second accident,incredible.

It was after Noon so perhaps a three martini lunch? They weren’t giving her a ride so if she was carted off in the back of the car she is suspected of driving with some sort of impairment.

How in the world can you roll a car if you are driving in a reasonable manner?

The Duke boys of Hazzard county did it all the time to get away from Rosco P. Coaltrain. I always wondered why he didn't just drive over to their house and arrest them later?

Back to the Wall

A Rover is a very stable platform. It looks like it may have been driven up a utility pole guy wire. I've seen that flip a vehicle.

Another clue is the torn encapsulation. That won't fall off in a simple capsize.

How can you still be this stupid at 31

Lots of people over 31 drive drunk.

How do you roll a car going 25 an hour and snapping a pole, leave it to stupid people
