Police in St. Joseph Township said a 20-year-old Benton Harbor man lost his left eye; a 31-year-old Benton Harbor man lost two fingers on his right hand; and a 20-year-old Covert man suffered a ruptured eardrum. The men's names were not released.

The fireworks mishap happened late Friday night.

According to police, one of the men improperly lit a rocket that had a short fuse. The other two were standing nearby.
