Music booster charged with stealing

The former treasurer of the Kenowa Hills music boosters is charged with stealing more than $100,000 from the organization over several years.

The Kent County Sheriff's Department began investigating Robyn Amy Heintz on May 2 when board members with the Kenowa Hills Instrumental Music Boosters uncovered hundreds of suspicious charges and withdrawals from a bank account.

Police said Heintz had access to the account and confessed to stealing the money during an interview with investigators.

Heintz, 40, has been charged with embezzlement.
