Mark R. Vandermolen, 61, was booked into the Kent County Jail on Tuesday. He's charged with assault with intent to commit sexual penetration and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

A 41-year-old woman reportedly said Vandermolen tried to force her to have sex last week.

At his arraignment Wednesday, Vandermolen told Judge Jeannine LaVille that he plans to represent himself. The judge gave him a $10,000 bond and scheduled a probable cause hearing for July 31 before a visiting judge.
