One dead in SUV vs. motorcycle crash

A 57-year-old Holland man died when an SUV struck his motorcycle Sunday night.

The man’s name was not released.

Holland Police said alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash.

The crash occurred about 9:05 p.m. in the area of 32nd Street near Apple Avenue.

Police said a 1993 GMC Suburban was eastbound on 32nd Street when witnesses saw it cross the centerline and crash head-on with the motorcycle.

Two of the three occupants of the Suburban fled the scene after the crash, but were apprehended a short time later about a quarter mile from the crash site.

All three individuals were taken into custody.
