Emergency crews responded to the call shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday at the northwest corner of U.S. 31 and Robbins Road.

Police said the woman on the mo-ped was westbound on her vehicle when she was hit.

Witnesses said the 2003 GMC pickup truck, driven by Brian Barr of West Olive, was southbound on U.S. 31, disregarded the red light and entered the intersection.

The truck struck the back tire of the mo-ped and knocked off the rider, police said.

The rider, Paige McCormack of Grand Haven, kept checking her elbow as she walked with paramedics to the nearby ambulance after the 2:50 p.m. crash.

Officials said she was treated at the scene, but was not transported.
