Emergency crews responded to the incident on Bridlepath Drive east of 168th Avenue at about 5:45 p.m.

Police said the girl was riding her bicycle out of her driveway, slowed for a car to pass and then proceeded into the road, not realizing a second car was approaching.

The driver of the car, a 33-year-old Spring Lake Township woman, said she did not see the child until just before they collided, said Sgt. Matt Wildfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

The girl suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon.

Police did not release the child’s name.

A neighbor reported the girl was OK and had returned home.
