Spring Lake residents LaDon Gustafson and Jane Cirona, both 65, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the 7:52 p.m. crash, said Sgt. Christi Wendt of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Gustafson was driving west on M-104 in her Hyundai Elantra when an eastbound GMC Yukon turned in front of her.

She was unable to avoid the crash and struck the SUV broadside on the passenger side.

The Spring Lake woman driving the SUV, Tracy McMartin, 39, said she was eastbound on the highway and had slowed to turn into a camper storage business to retrieve some items from her camper.

The woman said a guy standing in the driveway distracted her. She was concentrating on not hitting him, turned and was broadsided by the smaller car.

McMartin and her two daughters were shaken up, but not injured in the crash.

Traffic was slowed to one lane for about 45 minutes after the collision.
