The hazardous weather outlook is from 1 p.m. to midnight.  Strong thunderstorms are possible with wind gusts in excess of 50 mph and hail to nearly 1-inch in diameter.  Torrential rains with localized flooding is possible.

Heat index values will also push temps in the lower to mid-90s this afternoon.

Doppler radar has also shown strong thunderstorms moving on shore from Lake Michigan at 30 mph. Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning is expected with heavy downpours and temporary street flooding.

Residents are urged to stay away from high objects outdoors such as trees. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure until this storm has passed. Do not attempt to drive across flooded portions of roadways.
